HUSQVARNA VIKING DESIGNER I SEWING MACHINE

Sewing, Inc. (“Husqvarna Viking”) has initiated a
program to refurbish or replace the power supply component on certain
Husqvarna Viking Designer I sewing machines. Husqvarna Viking is
implementing this recall in cooperation with the United States Consumer
Product Safety Commission.
PROBLEM:
Husqvarna Viking believes that a component in the power supply of the
Husqvarna Viking Designer I can potentially overheat.
Husqvarna Viking
believes that within a component in the power supply of its Husqvarna
Viking Designer I machines there exists a minimal potential of
overheating which could, in rare circumstances, cause electrical
arcing. Husqvarna Viking has determined that in three Husqvarna Viking
Designer I sewing machines sold from January 1999 through June 2004,
the power supply component caused the machine to overheat. Husqvarna
Viking changed this component in February 2004, and there have been no
reported incidents involving machines manufactured after that date.
Husqvarna Viking is not aware of any injuries associated with this
product.

Serial number beginning with “6” and ending with
“1.”
Serial number beginning with “8” and ending with
“4.”
Serial number beginning with “5” and ending with
“1.”
Serial number beginning with “0” and ending with
“6.”
Serial number beginning with “1” and ending with
“9.”
Serial number beginning with “7” and ending with
“4.”
Serial number beginning with “9” and ending with
“1.”
Serial number beginning with “6” and ending with
“3.”
Serial number beginning with “5” and ending with
“9.”

WHAT TO DO:
Bring your machine to your nearest Husqvarna Viking dealer for a free
refurbishment of the component that is subject to the recall. The
component will be replaced free of charge if it cannot be refurbished
or if the circumstances otherwise warrant replacement. For additional
