Learn to Quilt FAQ's

Q: How much will it cost?

A: You will need to purchase a book that has all the instructions to make 8 different beginner quilts. The cost of the book is $14.95. There is a class fee of $12.00 for each class. Then you will need your fabrics - first you need the fabrics for the 'top' of the quilt - the projects in this book are small so your costs for the top fabrics can be anywhere from $20 - $40 dollars. You will need a backing fabric and batting, but you won't need those on the first day!

Q: When are the classes?
A: Classes are every other Wednesday night from 6:30pm to 8:30pm - Starting March 9, 2011.

Q: How many classes will it take to make my first quilt?
A:That depends on you. Plan on 3-4 classes for your first project. It could be less or more depending on your comfort level. This program is designed so you can work at your own pace, and you won't miss anything if you miss a class.

Q: How do I sign up?
A: Give us a call or stop in! 203-888-9196. We can help you pick out coordinating fabrics.

Q: Can I buy my fabric at big box stores?
A:Fabric from big box stores is not the same quality as quilt shop fabric. Quilt shop fabric is printed on better quality goods, therefore it has very little shrinkage, shreading, and color bleeding. Good Quality fabric = Good quality finished product that you will be happy with. Besides buying fabric from independent retailers keeps us in business so we can continue to help you. You won't find service like ours at a big box store!
